Business Speaking and Listening

In many workplaces in Thailand, English is an essential part of daily professional communication. Meetings may include overseas colleagues joining by video, or a foreign client may contact a Thai office by phone and expect clear and immediate responses in English. Managers in international or regional companies often ask Thai staff to share opinions, give updates, or respond to questions in English during discussions. In these situations, there is little time to translate or rehearse. Success depends on the ability to understand spoken English as it is used in real business contexts and to respond clearly, accurately, and professionally.

The Business Speaking and Listening course is designed specifically for Thai professionals working in Thailand who need practical English for real workplace situations. It focuses on speaking and listening skills for telephone and online conversations, meetings, and everyday professional discussions with foreign colleagues, clients, and partners. The course is delivered online via Zoom and is typically taught one-to-one or in small private groups of three to four Thai participants with a similar level of English, allowing lessons to remain focused and relevant.

Course length and content are flexible and adapted to participants’ roles, industries, and communication needs within the Thai business environment. Lessons may include handling calls with foreign clients, contributing confidently in meetings, expressing opinions clearly, asking for clarification, and managing misunderstandings in a professional and culturally appropriate manner. Listening practice reflects real workplace English, while speaking activities emphasise clarity, accuracy, and professional tone.
